I almost biked 150 miles

This past weekend I participated in the "Waves to Wine" MS 150 Bike tour. It's a 150-mile bike ride over two days to benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis society. My friends Dunagan and Aden from Stanford have a team called "WeFightMS.com" that rides these tours routinely. I decided to join them on this one because it's a good cause, and because it started in SF which meant a bunch of my college friends would be participating as well. Thing is, I signed up only a couple of weeks beforehand, which could be one of the reasons I only made it about 120 miles. The first day was great, but my knee was getting sore by the end of it. The second day I had to bow out because I was worried about suffering some kind of injury. I was a little disappointed not to finish, but at the same time I had a great experience I at least made it pretty close.

Here's a shot I took of me and Jeff biking across the Golden Gate Bridge shortly after dawn on Saturday. Not an easy thing to do, operate a camera and bike at the same time!

Here's an awesome shot of Maren as we arrived in wine country. Maren and I biked together for most of the way, she's pretty intense and has great stamina. Plus she taught me a thing or two about "drafting" which was pretty awesome, especially since it saved me some energy when my knee started to bug me.

And finally, this is what my hair looks like after I've been wearing a bike helmet and sweating. I'm pretty sure this only happens to Asians because our hair extends radially outward from our heads.

Big thanks to everyone who contributed to my fundraising goal. I managed to raise $600 for my ride! Together we contributed to a good cause.
